Banana Bread

Glancy Family Cookbook Volume II, chapter 6

Yields 1 loaf

Ingredients

1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup bananas, mashed (I usually use more, about 4 bananas which we didn't eat in time)
1/2 cup (1 8-oz container) sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
walnuts, raisins, chocolate chips (any combo of these that you like, or none)

Steps

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter the loaf pan.
With mixer, mix butter and sugar.
Add eggs.
Combine dry ingredients; blend.
Add bananas, sour cream, and vanilla.
Mix in walnuts, raisins, and/or chocolate chips.
Bake for 1 hour, or slightly longer depending on your oven.
