Ingredients

white bread
Kraft mayonnaise
iceberg lettuce
tomatoes, preferably from a farmstand
bacon, good quality

Steps

Toast bread lightly and spread with mayonnaise.
For each sandwich, layer lettuce, 1 1/2 to 2 slices bacon, and a slice of tomato.
Perfect served in the summer with sweet corn, or as a treat for a Saturday lunch.

Variation: serve open-faced with pumpernickel or 'swirl' bread, toasted; substitute thousand island dressing for mayo, add extra-thin slices of deli turkey.
